OUR WORK

The CAS team have had the pleasure of working with several clients on a worldwide basis, and our focus is ensuring that all of the projects that we work on deliver the outcomes that have been set. 

Some of our projects are outlined below, with project outcomes being delivered on every occasion.

Samoa Airways

Provided program management for the establishment of the national carrier by engaging with the Samoa Ministry of Works, Transport and Infrastructure, and other aviation stakeholders, regarding Samoa National Policy Framework. Manage the flow on effect to Samoa Airports Authority, Samoa Tourism Authority, and the Samoa Civil Aviation Authority.

Executive management and set up of Samoa Airways as the new national carrier for the country including representation in the Australia and New Zealand market, wet lease negotiation, and full implementation and program management support. This included oversight and delivery of new systems including the reservations system, flight planning, and other operational delivery components.

Alliance Airlines

Management of the Alliance Airlines Project Management Office (PMO) providing project management oversight and delivery of strategic projects.

 

This has included:

  • Provided program management for the delivery of the Embraer (E190) fleet of aircraft to Alliance Airlines including remote delivery of 33 E190 aircraft at an approximate USD $250 million budget during COVID inclusion of the E190 aircraft on the Alliance Airlines AOC.

  • Management of the Qantas wet lease introduction and deployment of aircraft across the network.

  • Movement of a Full Flight Simulator (FFS) from Copa Airlines to Brisbane and subsequent qualification of the simulator;

  • EDTO approval for the E190 fleet.

  • Implementation of Constellation, a new flight planning platform, for the airline operations.

  • Implementation of a new Crew, Operations and Training Management System replacing legacy platforms.

Airline Regulatory Approvals

Delivery of regulatory approvals to multiple airlines globally to allow operations to Australia, New Zealand and other countries 

This included the oversight and management of the following items:

  • Development and approval of Transport Security Programs (TSP)

  • Development and approval of foreign AOC's

  • Delivery of economic and traffic licenses for multiple countries

  • Delivery of Boarder Agency requirements including coordination of customs, quarantine and immigration requirements.

Airport Management

Our team have been working with the Torres Shire Council to manage Horn Island Airport for several years. Services for Horn Island Airport include:

  • General management of an international airport in a remote location.

  • Provision of ARO services and airport safety management.

  • Stakeholder engagement - both infrastructure and operators.

  • Engagement with regulatory authorities for safety, security and management.

  • Development of strategic plans in conjunction with Torres Shire Council on the development of the airport.

Airport Market Attraction Strategy

Our team developed the Brisbane Airport Corporations (BAC) market attraction strategy for Asia, with a specific focus on China against a broader grouping of countries within Asia.

The strategy nominated several attraction strategies for the Asian market, including a proposed implementation plan.

 

The recommendations  from the attraction strategy were accepted and adopted by the BAC Board prior to being put into practise.

Regulatory Reform Support

The CAS team worked closely with the Malaysian Aviation Commission and advised them on economic regulatory matters and obligations under their Aviation Act for international commercial aviation.

Our work included:

  • Review of the Malaysian aviation regulatory framework and advice for changes to the Act and Regulations specifically around ownership and control.

  • Adoption of regulatory changes within the Malaysian Aviation framework.

  • Analysis and review of existing aviation economic rights for compliance.

Airport Pricing Model

The CAS team worked closely with the Sunshine Coast Board of Directors and Senior Management to define the strategy to agree a revised pricing model for the airport.

This model was then used to drive the pricing negotiations with airlines operating at the airport. 

This included the development of a financial model to determine the charging mechanisms of the pricing structure and then negotiations with the Airlines on the revised pricing.
